Nearly 22 years after leaving office, former president Bill Clinton has returned to the campaign trail as an in-demand Democratic surrogate, with events Sunday in Nevada, followed by planned appearances Monday in South Texas.
With less fanfare than former president Barack Obama, Clinton, 76, has made appearances in recent weeks for New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.), as well as other Democratic House candidates in Florida, North Carolina, New York and Ohio. He will campaign Sunday with Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.), before flying to South Texas to support Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Tex.) and Democratic House candidate Michelle Vallejo.
